Dr. Jason Heald, Director of Music at Umpqua Community College, will be featured during the next College in the Community event at the Roseburg Public Library.
His talk will take place Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. in the Deer Creek room. Heald has titled his presentation, “The 21st Century Performer, an Endangered Species?”. Heald will discuss the ways in which technology has impacted live performances since the turn of the 20th century, how technology affects live performance today, and what the cultural and intellectual implications are for the future.
The library has partnered with the Douglas Education Service District and UCC to offer the free series as part of its adult programming. Sessions will continue on the third Thursday of every month.
