A Roseburg man is in critical condition after the motorcycle he was driving hit the wall of a business on Sunday night.
Information from the Roseburg Police said at about 8:30 p.m. RPD responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Garden Valley at the intersection with Northeast Cedar. The report said a motorcycle operated by 59-year old Jeffrey Shipman had left the road and collided with a building. The rider sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center before being life-flighted to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield.
The report said officers spoke with witnesses who heard the motorcycle accelerating and then saw the rider lose control as he attempted to negotiate the turn from westbound Garden Valley to southbound Cedar, before the motorcycle hit the wall.
The report said the investigation is ongoing, however alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
