Work continues on the Old Highway 99 North/Winchester Improvement Project north of Roseburg.
Information from the Oregon Department of Transportation said the project is being administered by Douglas County, and will make several improvements along the highway between Roseburg and Winchester this summer and fall.
Old Highway 99 North, also known as Northeast Stephens Street, is closed near Taft Drive, about a half mile north of Costco. Access is being provided to local residents, and flaggers will provide traffic control as needed. All other motorists traveling between Roseburg and Winchester need to detour onto Interstate 5 between the Edenbower Exit 127 and the Winchester Exit 129. That detour will be in place until this fall.
