A Josephine County man is awaiting trial after being indicted on several sex abuse charges for crimes that allegedly took place in Douglas County.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said on February 7th of 2018, the DCSO Detectives Division was contacted by a detective from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety who stated that he had been conducting a sex abuse investigation. O’Dell said the detective stated that he was able to determine there were additional crimes which had occurred in Douglas County.
O’Dell said DCSO detectives forwarded the information to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office. 52-year old Otis Huey is now facing 23 counts for first degree sex abuse and 1 count for first degree sexual penetration with a foreign object. He is being held on $150,000 bail.
Last month Huey was sentenced in Josephine County to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sex abuse counts in that county.
O’Dell said the victims of the crimes were minor children known to Huey.
