50TH ANNIVERSARY OF LUNAR LANDING CELEBRATED AT MORGAN OBSERVATORY

The 50th anniversary of Apollo 11’s landing on the moon will be celebrated Saturday night at the Paul Morgan Observatory at Umpqua Community College.
Umpqua Astronomers will share their telescopes with the public from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. Dr. Morgan will give a talk about the Apollo anniversary, about lunar exploration and will offer a “tour” of the night sky.
Limited parking is available at the adjacent Tower building and space in the observatory is also limited.
