Two people were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle wreck on Thursday night.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 11:00 p.m. a 35-year old Yoncalla man was attempting to make a left turn onto Main Street in Yoncalla. A 44-year old Sutherlin man was traveling south on Eagle Valley at about 30 miles per hour. The report said the first driver turned in front of the second, causing a collision.
The first driver had a 1-year old daughter in the car with him, but she was not in a car seat. An adult female was in a rear passenger seat. The driver and the 1-year old were taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield to have their injuries looked at. The 2nd driver told deputies that he would seek medical attention on his own.
The driver who caused the accident was cited for reckless endangering and for making a dangerous left turn.
