OREGON DMV ANNOUNCES CLOSURE OF CANYONVILLE OFFICE

November 6, 2026 3:30 a.m.

The Canyonville Department of Motor Vehicles office at 241 NE Main St. will permanently close effective Wednesday, November 18th.

A release from the Oregon DMV said the Canyonville DMV is a small, two-person office and both positions are currently vacant. In July, the office went from being open three days a week to one, with limited hours. It is currently being staffed by employees borrowed from the Roseburg DMV.

Canyonville is 26 miles from the Roseburg DMV. That office will continue to serve the community five days a week. Class C drive tests are offered by a third-party tester in Roseburg.

The release said the DMV has added more than 30 online transactions to https://dmv2u.oregon.gov/eServices/_/ since establishing the platform in 2019, greatly reducing the need to go to an office. Going online saves the customer a trip and shortens waits for those who must complete their transaction in person. Customers are encouraged to always check the DMV website before visiting any office to confirm it is open.
