Roseburg Police jailed a woman for mail theft and cited her for unlawful possession of methamphetamine on Monday.

An RPD report said at 12:00 p.m. officers contacted the 42-year-old in the 700 block of Southeast Douglas Avenue for a prior case of mail theft. Officers spoke with the woman and determined that probable cause existed to arrest her for stealing a package. She was detained without incident and transported to corrections.

During a consent search, officers found her in possession of a crystal-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine. It later tested presumptive positive for amphetamines. The woman was detained without bail and was released early Tuesday morning.
