A Glendale Man was jailed for resisting arrest following a traffic stop on Tuesday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:30 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle for traffic violations near the intersection of Sether Avenue and Brown Street in the Glendale area. The deputy contacted the driver and the front-seat passenger. The rear- seat passenger was not wearing a seat belt and gave a false name. The deputy had the man, later identified as 31-year-old Kyle Williams exit the vehicle. As the deputy attempted to detain him, Williams allegedly attempted to flee and began to resist. After fighting with the suspect for several minutes, a bystander approached and assisted. The pair held Williams down for several minutes until another deputy arrived and the man was placed into handcuffs.

Dispatch advised that Williams had several felony warrants for his arrest. Williams was also allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was ultimately transported to jail. He was also charged with providing false information to a police officer and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, along with the warrants. Williams was detained without bail.
