Roseburg set a new record high temperature for the date on Friday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 89 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That was higher than the 84-degree high that had been forecast. It also blew past the previous record high for October 16th which had been 82 degrees, set in 2018. Weather data indicates Friday was most likely the last hot day for 2026.
A dry cold front moving in on Saturday means the Umpqua Valley will see the high drop around 20 degrees, only reaching 68 degrees. Sunday will see similar conditions while a low-pressure system on Monday will drop the high further to the low 60s with a slight chance of rain in the evening.
