NEAR-RECORD-TO-RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES THURSDAY AND FRIDAY

October 15, 2026 5:30 a.m.

Near record-to-record high temperatures for the date are expected Thursday and Friday in the Umpqua Valley as high pressure is over the area.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that highs both days will be in the mid 80’s, which is over fifteen degrees above normal for this time of year. The record high for Thursday is 87 degrees, set in 2015, while Friday’s record high is 82 degrees, which was achieved in 2018.

A weak cold front coming in on Saturday will drop the highs back to the seasonal norms in the upper 60s for the weekend. A low-pressure system moving in from the coast on Monday will mean cooler temperatures and the chance of rain for one day only.

The mercury reached 75 degrees on Wednesday at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
