Roseburg Police jailed a man for warrants, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and a parole violation on Wednesday night.
An RPD report said just after 10:20 p.m. officers contacted 34-year-old Markus Miller in a field on private property just south of the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street after a caller said the man needed to be trespassed from the property. Officers knew Miller had an unworked warrant out of RPD and dispatch advised the man had an active warrant for his arrest out of Douglas County Circuit Court.
Officers informed Miller he was under arrest and he allegedly immediately attempted to pull his arms away while he walked forward. Officers pulled the man to the ground as he resisted by trying to move his arms and legs to get away. He was eventually detained in handcuffs and placed in a patrol vehicle. A zip lock bag of suspected methamphetamine was later reportedly located in Miller’s possession. He was transported to corrections and detained without bail.
