The Umpqua Valley is expected to see the last gasp of summertime weather on Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that a high temperature of around 84 degrees is expected for Roseburg. A dry cold front will enter the region on Friday, dropping the high by around 15 degrees, to the upper 60s. Saturday is expected to drop even further with a high of only around 60 degrees. That is nearly a 25-degree reduction of the high temperature over a two-day period. Some warming will begin on Sunday but there is the potential for early morning frost in parts of the Umpqua Valley on Monday as overnight temperatures drop to the mid-30s. Normal seasonal highs in the low 70s are expected next week.

The high temperature was 83 degrees on Wednesday at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
