A portion of Old Melrose Road in Roseburg will be closed to through traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday while work crews install an underground bypass.

A city release said the closure will affect the section of Old Melrose Road immediately north of West Geodeck Avenue heading toward Harvard Avenue.

Detour signs will be posted, and local residents will be allowed access to their properties. Motorists should allow additional travel time and drive cautiously around crews and equipment. Allied Trenchless will be doing the construction work.
