A Myrtle Creek man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly causing a disturbance and providing false information to police.

An RPD report said the 62-year-old man was reportedly making suspicious statements at a business in the 1200 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard around 7:50 p.m. Officers talked with employees at the business who stated the man had left but would return later.

The man reportedly came back around 9 p.m. and the employees contacted police. Officers detained the man and said he provided a false name to avoid alerting police to an outstanding warrant out of Washington state.

Once officers correctly identified the man, they were allegedly able to confirm the outstanding warrant and he was taken into custody and lodged at Douglas County Corrections. He was additionally charged with providing false information.

He’s being held without bail.
