The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking applicants to fill an ocean and inland recreational fishing position on the Restoration and Enhancement Program Board.

In a release, ODFW said the ideal candidate will be a resident of Oregon that is able to effectively represent sport anglers. A person with involvement in local fishing groups or fish management, previous experience with boards or commissions, and knowledge of, or involvement with, the diverse sport fisheries across Oregon would be desirable.

Board members meet two to four times each year, according to the release. They travel to various communities to review project funding applications, hear public testimony and act as a liaison between the program and the public. Board members are appointed to four-year terms by the ODFW Commission.
