A weak front will bring showers into the Umpqua Valley from Thursday night through Friday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that before then conditions will stay dry with highs in the mid 70’s Wednesday and near 80 degrees on Thursday. Thursday night, the short-term change will mean around a quarter of an inch of rain in the Umpqua Valley in a 24-hour period. As the front moves through, afternoon high temperatures will cool to the mid to upper 60s’ from Friday through the weekend. That is ten to fifteen degrees below the average high temperature for this time of year. Highs will begin to warm on Monday but stay below normal for the next week.

The mercury reached 73 degrees on Tuesday at the Roseburg Regional Airport. 78 is the normal high temperature for the date.
