The Douglas Forest Protective Association has approved permits for prescribed burns to take place on Thursday:

Burns are expected to ignite around 10:30 a.m. in the Buckhorn Road and Dixonville Road areas and in the 5000 block of Sunshine Road. They will be visible from Interstate 5, Highway 138 East, Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard, and North Bank Road in the Roseburg area until around 10:00 p.m.

A burn is scheduled to ignite at 12:00 p.m. in the 1800 block of Tyee Road in the Umpqua area. It will continue until 2:00 p.m. The burn will be visible in the Umpqua, Melrose, Hubbard Creek Road, and Roseburg areas.
