Roseburg Police jailed a woman following an alleged assault incident on Sunday.

An RPD report said officers responded to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Northeast Winchester Street multiple times throughout the day after a 55-year-old was called in for screaming and banging on residents’ doors with a stick. At approximately 2:00 p.m. the 55-year-old accused someone of killing her children and struck the victim approximately ten times in the face and hand with a closed fist. The victim had significant swelling around her right eye and had difficulty using her right hand.

The suspect was charged fourth-degree assault and second-degree disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $5,000.
