The YMCA of Douglas County is running a “Back to School. Back to the Y” membership promotion through September 12th where new members can join with a $0 joining fee.

A release from the YMCA said there are several youth programs that give teens a place to belong and stay active, including youth space, youth sports, swimming lessons, youth strength & conditioning, homeschool physical education, Gracie jiu-jitsu self-defense and bullyproof, family STEAM days and more.

The Y also offers programs that help teens prepare for employment. Teen workforce development returns October 7th, giving youth the opportunity to meet local employers, build a resume, practice interviewing and earn a job reference. Older teens can also explore upcoming swim instructor and lifeguard certification courses. Registration is open now.

The release said the Y offers a full group fitness schedule, an updated facility from the cardio room and weight room to the courtyard, and an aquatic center with two pools, sauna, hot tubs and steam room.

Registration for fall programs and membership information is available online at: www.ymcaofdouglascounty.org.
