August 21, 2026 4:10 a.m.

Roseburg tied for the second hottest day of 2026 so far on Thursday with a change to conditions in the region beginning on Friday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 98 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That tied the highs reached on July 20th and June 14th. The hottest temperature this year has been 99 degrees, achieved on August 5th, August 6th and June 15th. Thursday’s high was also just shy of the record high for the date, which is 101 degrees, set in 2016.

Forecasters said an upper-level low pressure system is moving on shore from the coast, dropping the highs to the mid 80’s between Friday and Sunday.
