In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Umpqua Valley Arts is wrapping up their Umpqua Plein Air event with an opening reception on Saturday.

For the past several days artists have descended on Douglas County painting scenes of rivers and waterfalls, deep forests, golden farmlands, tranquil coastal scenes and more. Now the artists have submitted up to three pieces to be exhibited. Portland artist Elo Wobig is this year’s juror and is selecting what will be on display.

The community is invited to attend the free opening reception from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to get a first look at the art and meet the artists and juror. The exhibit will be on display through October 24th.

Umpqua Valley Arts regular gallery hours are Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday’s from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It is located in Fir Grove Park on West Harvard Avenue in Roseburg.
