The Roseburg Public Library announced it will host Bee Amazed! presented by the University of Oregon’s Museum of Natural and Cultural History at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18th.

A city of Roseburg release said youth from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to catch the buzz and be delighted by the wonderful world of Oregon bees as there are more than 500 kinds. Kids can discover mason bees, cuckoo bees, mining bees, longhorn bees and, of course, honeybees. The event offers hands-on science fun and buzz-worthy activities about bugs and bees while exploring these mighty mini-beasts of nature.

The free program will be held at the library on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard, as part of their Summer Reading Program. The event is made possible by a grant from the Douglas County Cultural Coalition and the Oregon Cultural Trust.
