ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR DRUG LAW VIOLATION

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a drug law violation early Monday.

An RPD report said just after 12:20 a.m. officers responded to a gas station in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard after a caller said a man was unconscious and unresponsive in the driver seat of a parked vehicle. The 40-year-old was contacted and advised that he was just very tired. A bag of a white powdery substance was found in plain view on the passenger seat of the vehicle. The suspect admitted that it was fentanyl. He was placed into custody and transported to corrections.

The gross weight of the bag of fentanyl was approximately 5 grams. During an inventory search of the man’s belongings, a small bag containing approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine was located. The suspect was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $5,000. He was released later in the day.
