On Monday, Oregon Senator Ron Wyden announced that he will host a virtual health care field hearing on Sunday to hear from rural Oregonians about their concerns and experiences regarding health care.
Wyden’s live online “Reimagining Health Care for America” event will begin at 1:30 p.m. and can be watched on YouTube. Oregonians living and working in rural communities can submit comments and questions in advance for consideration by People’s Town Hall at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdFKAPSHvntYZDREE8cCJiiP3KEhHaAwNNv2r1zEwq6BxYDXQ/viewform
A release said Wyden is holding multiple statewide field hearings on the topic during the August congressional work period to take testimony ahead of massive changes coming soon. Wyden is also inviting patients, consumers of long-term care, family caregivers, and medical professionals to the hearings taking place in Eugene, Medford, Salem and Portland.
Wyden claims that starting in January 2027, nearly 250,000 Oregonians will be at risk of losing their health insurance due to the “Big, Beautiful, Bill”.
