A Eugene man was jailed on DUII and criminal mischief charges on Friday afternoon.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 5:10 p.m. a deputy responded to the recreational vehicle parking lot at the Douglas County Fair regarding a hit and run incident.
Fairgrounds security attempted to stop an SUV from leaving and the driver allegedly drove into the security team’s ATV. The driver was identified as 47-year-old Matthew Combs and signs of impairment were reportedly observed. Combs allegedly refused standard field sobriety tests and was transported to corrections. The driver refused to give a breath sample. A search warrant for blood was signed.
Combs was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants-alcohol and second and third-degree counts of criminal mischief. He was detained without bail.
