ROSEBURG TIES RECORD HIGH FOR THE DATE AND HOTTEST DAY OF 2026

Roseburg tied the record high for the date on Wednesday and also tied for being the hottest day of 2026 so far.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 99 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That equaled the record high for August 5th, which was set in 1940. It also tied as the hottest day of the year to this point with the 99-degree high set on June 15th.

Roseburg could tie or surpass those records on Thursday as an afternoon high temperature of near 100 is forecast. The record high for August 6th is 98 degrees, set in 1955.

The Umpqua Valley could see slight cooling on Friday with a high in the mid to upper 90s expected. By the weekend, highs could be between near 90 and the low to mid 90s.
