A number of local organizations and individuals are teaming up for the Better with You Here Color Walk, on Saturday at Mill Site Park in Myrtle Creek.

Organizers said the heart behind the event is simple: to bring people together, spread hope, connect people with local resources and remind everyone of one message: The world is better with YOU here.

The color walk will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mill Site Park on Main Street. It will include colored powder, mango-scented colored foam, water slides, music, kids’ activities, a dunk tank, free lunch while supplies last, community resource booths and an optional community raffle.

One hundred percent of the raffle proceeds will go directly to the South Umpqua High School Hope Squad. Hope Squad is a student-led suicide prevention and peer support program that empowers students to recognize when classmates may be struggling, and connect them with trusted adults, and resources.
