NORTH DOUGLAS COUNTY FAIR HAPPENING FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

The North Douglas County Fair is happening this Friday through Sunday at the Drain Civic Center.

Organizers say the fair began in 1922 and is the oldest continuous fair in the State of Oregon. The event is a joint effort of the communities of Yoncalla, Elkton, Rice Hill, Scottsburg and Drain.

Events include:

Friday the fair begins at 10:00 a.m. with the exhibit hall, vendor market, ice cream parlor, water slide and more. It will be Kids Day at the fair with sack races, egg spoon race, pie eating contest, dime toss, the WOW Truck and more. In the evening, its Teen Night with the Queen coronation, basketball game, tattoo booth, face painting, big pants race and other activities. The evening will end with a move at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the parade will be held at 10:00 a.m. as the fair re-opens. The One More Time Marching Band will play at 11:00 a.m. as the car show begins. A cornhole tournament gets started at 11:00 a.m. The Booher Family Band performs at 1:00 p.m. followed by the pie auction at 3:00 pm.  The Muddy Creek Band plays at 7:00 p.m. with activities continuing until 10;00 p.m.

Sunday, the fair opens at 10:00 a.m. with a pancake breakfast as other activities resume. A worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by Church at the Fair at 11:00 a.m. and gospel music at 12:30 p.m. The fair ends at 2:00 p.m.
