The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man for violation of a restraining order on Wednesday night.

A DCSO report said just after 10:20 p.m. a caller said the 54-year-old had been texting and calling a protected person who has a restraining order against the man. Upon speaking with the caller, the deputy realized the suspect was currently on the same property as the protected person. The restraining order states the suspect is not supposed to be within 1,000 feet of the protected person.

The suspect’s house is approximately 20 feet from trailer where the protected person lives. The phone number used to send the texts was the same one the man provided to the deputy. The suspect was detained without bail. He was released on Thursday.
