International Overdose Awareness Day is observed on Saturday, August 29th.
This year’s international theme is “25 Years…Still Needed”, recognizing 25 years of honoring lives lost to overdose, supporting those who grieve, and strengthening the commitment to prevention, treatment, recovery and hope.
A local event will be held at Painted Horse Recovery at 1941 Northeast Stephens Street from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will feature a number of organizations offering:
*Community resources
*Barbecue
*Live music
*Drum circle
*Naloxone training
*Memorial activities
*Open mic sharing
