In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Thrive Umpqua and Umpqua Valley Arts are holding a Third Thursday event this week at UVA on West Harvard Avenue in Roseburg.

The open house will give attendees an opportunity to enjoy local art, connect with others, and spend time creating. The evening runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and includes beverages, snacks and a hands-on creative activity. This month, Rain Allen will lead participants in creating Zentangles. Participants will learn the basics of the Zentangle Method, a mindful and relaxing drawing practice that uses simple, repetitive patterns to create abstract artwork. Attendees will learn several beginner-friendly tangles and complete their own Zentangle tile. No drawing experience is necessary and all supplies are included.
