DFPA MOVING TO IFPL TO LEVEL 3 ON WEDNESDAY

July 14, 3036 3;40 a.m.

Effective on Wednesday, the Douglas Forest Protective Association will change Industrial Fire Precaution Levels to Level 3 for all private, county, state, and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District.

DFPA Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said the Roseburg District of the Bureau of Land Management is included in the fire season declaration, which imposes certain fire restrictions on industrial operators to help prevent wildfires and has specific Fire Prevention Orders or other restrictions on BLM-administered lands

Pope said under IFPL Level 3, the use of fire or power-driven machinery in any operation area is unlawful unless such use is in compliance with the restricted shutdown.

The following are permitted to operate between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.:

*Power saws at loading sites

*Loading or hauling any product or material

*Blasting

*Welding, cutting or grinding metal

*Any other spark-emitting operation not specifically mentioned
