OSU EXTENSION PRESENTS TREE SCHOOL UMPQUA

Oregon State University Extension Service of Douglas County will offer its Tree School Umpqua on Friday, August 21st.

The day of classes centered on forestry and natural resource topics will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at Umpqua Community College. Check-in will be in the Student Center lobby with classes in Jackson Hall.

Tree School Umpqua features 23 classes on a wide variety of topics of interest to family forestland owners, professionals in forestry and natural resources, loggers, arborists, teachers and the general public. Many classes qualify for continuing education credit requirements from the Society of American Foresters and Associated Oregon Loggers. Credits from the International Society of Arboriculture may also be available for those interested. Classes are 1.5 hours long, and participants can attend up to four over the course of the day.

All participants must register in advance. Registration is $70 per person if completed by August 2nd, and $90 per person if completed between August 3rd and 11th. No walk-ins are allowed on the day of the Tree School.
