A freeway crash Thursday morning involved a compact vehicle versus a deer.

An Oregon State Police report said at 6:50 a.m. the vehicle was traveling south on Interstate 5 near milepost 118, about a mile south of the Green/Winston exit when the wreck took place. One lane of the freeway was blocked for a time, resulting in a traffic backup. The deer was removed from the roadway.
