Crews from the Douglas Forest Protective Association are tackling the Little Paradise Fire near Elkton.
A DFPA post said resources from the agency with assistance from the Oregon Department of Forestry West Lane engaged in an aggressive initial attack on the estimated 3.5-acre fire starting Wednesday afternoon. There was moderate fire activity on the fire which is in a previously logged unit. 2 DFPA helicopters worked on air attack along with 3 West Lane engines, 4 DFPA engines, 2 squads and a dozer.
By 8:30 p.m. the Little Paradise Fire was 100 percent hose-layed and 100 percent plumbed. Ground crews, supported by a dozer, were continuing to make steady progress trailing the fire’s perimeter. Suppression activities continued Wednesday night and will on Thursday as well. Additional resources have been ordered and continue to arrive on the scene.
No homes or structures are threatened by the Little Paradise Fire.
