Families will soon have a new way to explore Riverfront Park as the City of Roseburg partners with Oregon Parks Forever and Kids in Parks to bring a new TRACK Trail to the community.

A city release said the new self-guided TRACK Trail combines outdoor recreation with interactive learning, encouraging children and families to discover nature while staying active. The approximately 0.8 mile out and back trail features hands-on activities that can be accessed at the trailhead kiosk or on a smartphone by scanning the QR code posted at the site.

As children complete TRACK Trail adventures, they can log their activities for free at www.kidsinparks.com to earn prizes while exploring parks and trails across the country.

To celebrate the new addition, the City of Roseburg will host a TRACK Trail Grand Opening on Monday, July 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Riverfront Park, just east of the south entrance to the Roseburg VA Medical Center. City staff will be on hand to introduce families to the program, answer questions, and help participants get started in their first TRACK Trail adventure.

The release said the TRACK Trail is part of a nationwide initiative designed to inspire children and families to get outside, explore nature, and build heathy habits through fun, self-guided activities.

The TRACK Trail was made possible through the Kids in Parks Grant Program, funded by Oregon Parks Forever in partnership with Kids in Parks.
