One person was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon.
An Oregon State Police report said shortly after 3:00 p.m. troopers were dispatched to Interstate 5 northbound at milepost 110 in the Boomer Hill area. The driver, a Canyonville woman, was traveling northbound when she looked in the back seat to check on her child, only to turn back to the road and notice that traffic had significantly slowed, due to road work. The driver slammed on her brakes, only to have the brakes lock and cause the sedan to spin out into the guardrail. The vehicle damaged three panels and three posts of the guardrail. The Oregon Department of Transportation was notified and arrived on the scene to assess. The sedan sustained front-end damage.
One passenger was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center, due to a minor injury. The driver and the backseat passenger were not injured.
