In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Music in the Park begins in Myrtle Creek on Thursday night.

That Other Band will open the series. Band members from Roseburg and Portland perform R&B, funk, soul and more.

Douglas County’s longest running free to the public summer concert series is celebrating its 39th year. Concerts are held weekly through August 27th, with the exception of July 23rd when the Myrtle Creek Summer Festival takes place. Shows run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Concerts are held at Millsite Park which is on Main Street. Food is available at the park and at several locations nearby. Attendees can bring blankets and chairs, Dogs are allowed, if kept under control and cleaned up after.

Music in the Park is presented by the Myrtle Creek-Tri City Area Chamber of Commerce. For more information call 860-2037.
