The Oregon Department of Human Services has its First Thursday event this week in the agency’s parking lot at 738 West Harvard Avenue in Roseburg.

It will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. “Summer Safety” is the theme for the month. Community resources to be given out include life jackets for ages 2-9, water safety bags for ages 10 plus, plus sunscreen, goggles, and water bottles all while supplies last.

First Thursday also has food boxes for those in need, along with clothing, a mobile medical clinic, and showers which are available from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. only. Those attending the event can also get a free community meal.
