A Yoncalla man was jailed Sunday for a reported prior assault incident.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said Thursday night at 10:45 p.m. a victim claimed the 48-year-old had come to her property on Tuesday and assaulted her by pushing her to the ground, punching her face twice. The victim had four bruises consistent with hand marks on her left arm and both legs.
Sunday at approximately 5:00 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Scotts Valley Road in the Yoncalla area, knowing that the suspect was the driver. The man denied that anything had happened and said there had been no physical altercation.
The man was charged with fourth-degree assault and was detained without bail.
