Roseburg Police jailed a man for second-degree burglary and third-degree theft on Tuesday night.

An RPD report said at 11:45 p.m. officers responded after a caller said there was a theft at motel in the 2800 block of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard. During the investigation, officers contacted the 28-year-old and learned he had previously been trespassed after his employment at the business was terminated for a previous theft.

The man admitted to going to the motel and stealing quarters from the laundry machine, totaling over $71. He was taken into custody and transported to corrections. During the booking process, the man was found in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, so was cited for a violation count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
