Two people received minor injuries in a head-on crash on Highway 38 early Tuesday morning.

An Oregon State Police report released Thursday afternoon said shortly after 5:00 a.m. troopers were dispatched to the wreck just over a mile east of Drain.  A box-truck had left its lane and ran into a van carrying six occupants. Two of the passengers were transported to an area hospital. The driver of the box truck had fallen asleep at the wheel. His vehicle came to rest on the railroad tracks off the shoulder of the road. The van came to rest on the opposite side of the road on a grassy shoulder. The box truck driver was cited for failure to maintain a lane. Both vehicles were towed.
