UMPQUA VALLEY FARMERS MARKET WILL EXPAND TO TWO BLOCKS

May 8, 2026 2:50 a.m.

The Umpqua Valley Farmer’s Market plans to expand from one to two blocks on Southeast Jackson Street in downtown Roseburg, later in May.

Board president Meredith Bliss told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the market operates year-round, every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and currently uses the 500 block of Jackson Street. Bliss said as summer approaches, the organization is seeing an increase in the number of vendors who have produce and other goods they want to bring to the market. So, with limited space currently, the market will expand to also being set up in the 600 block of Jackson Street beginning May 23rd. That model will continue through the busy summer season working with the downtown businesses and restaurants to create a vibrant Saturday destination for residents who appreciate local produce, baked foods, artisans, prepared food and more.

Market Manager Jaime Gleixner said the farmers market began with a group of farmers in 1994. Gleixner said today it is comprised of nearly 100 vendors, each offering products grown, raised, cooked or created with their own hands. The market welcomes SNAP/EBT payments. Customers can bring their Oregon Trail card to the information booth and receive tokens to spend on qualifying food items, plus get up to $20 extra for produce and plant starts with Double Up Food Bucks, every week.
