CANYONVILLE WOMAN JAILED FOLLOWING ALLEGED DUII CRASH

A Canyonville woman was jailed following an alleged DUII crash on Tuesday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 4:15 p.m. a trooper responded to the single-vehicle wreck into a guardrail on Interstate Five northbound, a mile south of Myrtle Creek. While enroute, dispatch advised that the vehicle had left southbound on the freeway. An Oregon Department of Transportation staffer followed the vehicle to a residence in Myrtle Creek.

The trooper contacted the driver at that location. The driver, 36-year-old Joanna Johnson, allegedly showed signs of impairment. Ultimately. she was reportedly not cooperative, and a search warrant was granted to take her blood or breath. The driver allegedly refused to take a breath test, and the phlebotomist was unable to find a vein to get her blood. Johnson was taken to jail and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, failure to perform the duties of a driver in a collision with property damage, reckless driving and a probation violation. Johnson was detained without bail.
