Two vehicles sustained heavy damage in a highway crash on Tuesday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 4:20 p.m. troopers along with Glide Rural Fire Protection District and the Oregon Department of Transportation responded to the two-vehicle wreck on Highway 138E, approximately six miles west of Glide.

An eastbound sedan was stopped in a lane waiting to turn left onto Oak Creek Drive. The driver of a pickup, also heading eastbound, did not see the first vehicle. His pickup rearended the first vehicle at a high rate of speed. After being hit, the sedan spun out across both westbound lanes and came to rest on the westbound shoulder. Following the crash, the pickup traveled across the eastbound lanes and came to rest on the shoulder, partially blocking an eastbound travel lane.

Lots of debris was thrown across all lanes of travel, blocking both eastbound and westbound traffic. The rear end of the sedan and the front end of the pickup both were damaged. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. No one was injured.

The driver who caused the wreck was issued a citation or warning.
