On Tuesday, Oregon State Senator David Brock Smith officially launched his campaign for the United State Senate seat currently held by Democrat Jeff Merkley.
A campaign release said Brock Smith is a third-generation resident of southwest Oregon and former restaurateur of his family’s built and owned restaurant for 45 years. Smith said he brings deep roots, real-world campaign experience, and a proven record of results-driven leadership to his campaign for the U.S. Senate.
The release said throughout his career, Smith has delivered for families and businesses across his district and state, advancing practical solutions that strengthen communities, create opportunities, and protect Oregon’s way of life.
Smith said, “Oregonians are tired of partisan bickering, political grandstanding, and headlines that produce nothing but noise”. Smith said, ‘I’ve never operated that way. As your next United States Senator, I won’t start now. My focus will be squarely on the people of Oregon. I’ll fight to make everyday life m ore affordable for working families, restore safety to our streets, address addiction and homeless with accountability, and ensure every Oregonian’s voice is heard and respected in Washington”.
Smith said his experience spans small business and public service at every level, from Chamber of Commerce and School Board to City Council, County Commissioner, and the House and Senate in the Oregon State Legislature. The release said in each role, he has worked to solve difficult problems, balance budgets responsibly, and work collaboratively to advance policies that help residents, communities, and businesses thrive.
Smith said, “As a third-generation Oregonian, It’s been the honor of life to serve you locally an in Salem”. Smith said, “As your next United States Senator, my mission is simple: Put Oregon First. Its time for leadership rooted in service – not headlines or personal ambition. That’s what I’ve done my entire career, and that’s what I’ll continue doing in Washington”. Smith concluded, “Join me, and together, we will build a better Oregon”.
