Chance Ketchem, a graduate phase participant in the H.O.P.E. Drug Court Program, has launched the Rebuilding Second Chances community project to benefit the Roseburg Dream Center.
A Douglas County Circuit Court release said the initiative is part of Ketchem’s graduation project and will provide essential items to the Roseburg Dream Center, which supports individuals and families in need throughout the community.
Items being collected include hand sanitizer, men’s pants – sixes 30 to 34, small, medium and large sweatshirts and coats, soap and body wash, shampoo and conditioner, gloves, shoes and socks.
Ketchem said, “In early recovery it helped me a lot because I did not have money and resources to buy clothes and they let me pick out what I wanted. I was a nice feeling to have something”. Through Rebuilding Second Chances, Ketchem is now providing for others in similar situations, offering clothing and other items to meet immediate needs.
Roseburg Dream Center Directors Hollie and Jeremy Grammon said, “Roseburg Dream Center is so honored to partner with Drug Court and being the recipient of Chance’s graduation project. It is truly an amazing thing to see what Drug Court is doing in helping these men and women, like Chance, transform their lives and also have the opportunity to give back to our community in such real ways”.
Donated items can be dropped off at the Douglas County Juvenile Department on the first floor of the Douglas County Courthouse, at 1036 Southeast Douglas Avenue in Roseburg through March 9th.
H.O.P.E. Drug Court will have its 112th graduation on Tuesday, March 31st at 5:15 p.m. in Cascade Hall at the fairgrounds.
