WILDLIFE SAFARI ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF NEW LEMUR HOUSE

Wildlife Safari has announced the completion of the brand-new Lemur House, located in the parks free Walk Thru Safari.

A Safari release said in October of 2025, the lemurs were temporarily relocated to an on-site holding area while demolition and reconstruction of their habitat began. After several months of construction, the project was officially completed on January 26th, and the fan favorite lemurs were now returned to their newly improved island home.

Village Keeper Supervisor Zoe Notenboom said, “The new lemur house is significantly larger than the previous structure and was designed with durability and long-term animal care in mind”. Notenboom said the space can be divided into two separate rooms, allowing for safe introductions of new lemurs and the ability to create a maternity area if needed. Large windows provide natural light and fresh air while also allowing guests to view the lemurs when they choose to spend time indoors. The house is fully heated to ensure comfort during colder weather, and the lemurs have adjusted very well to the new space. Notenboom said, “It has been exciting to watch them explore and engage in their new environment”.

The release said guests can again visit the energetic lemurs and view the updated island in the free Walk through Safari, located just behind the Safari Grill.

The lemur house offers an enhanced, more efficient environment for the animals while providing guests with an even better viewing and educational experience.
