AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY EXTENDED THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON

January 22, 2026 3:50 a.m.

An Air Stagnation Advisory has been extended until Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. within the valleys of Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said poor air quality will continue. This is due to an inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface that will continue to trap pollutants. Poor air quality may cause issues for people with respiratory problems. Those with respiratory illness should follow their physician’s advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air.

Drivers should slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of their vehicle.
